original poem "own your trends" by mike obrien
your fridge will look a lot cooler with this poem magnetized to it.
"own your trends
i hope i never got to be that guy again
you know the one, i get woven like a basket when
i meet somebody that i like and i try to pretend
that i'm knowin what i'm doin like ive mastered zen
so now i grab the pen
and put the truth down its couth now
to own your trends
and when somebody gets close to me i wobble within and then the push pull starts
and yes i know its a sin
and i'm not here to defend my old ways i been lost like an orphan can
i right the ship thats been leaning since the day i began
to get turned by the proximity of certain women the curtain is thin
that separates men from madness and illness friends
i cant keep them either my constitution
it don talign with other folks well i get to slippin
into resentments and judgements and arrogant spins
i feel ive done what i can to be composed and then
the same pattern comes back like autumnal winds
and now i'm hopin that by layin down a confession
i can consolidate teh facts and find some wisdom therein"
